What this lesson covers

A Free Gift offer adds a free product to the cart automatically when the customer’s order reaches a spend threshold. Customers see a progress bar in the cart showing how close they are to unlocking the gift, which motivates them to add one more item.

It is the most popular offer type in Upnova and works across almost every product niche.

When to use Free Gift

  • You have a product that feels special to receive but is cheap to fulfill.
  • Most of your customers are close to a threshold you could set, meaning they would add one item to reach it.
  • You want a persistent, visible AOV driver in the cart at all times.

The gift name matters. “Free gift” is too vague. Use the actual product name: “Free collagen sample” or “Free snapback cap” creates curiosity and pulls customers in before they hit the threshold.
