Product volume discounts explained

Automatically discount customers who buy more units of the same product.

What this lesson covers

A Product Volume offer applies a tiered discount based on how many units of the same product a customer adds to the cart. For example: buy 2 and get 10% off, buy 3 and get 20% off. The discount applies automatically.

It is the strongest offer type for consumables, repeat-buy products, and anything where stocking up makes sense: supplements, coffee, candles, beauty products, pet food.

When to use Product Volume

  • You sell consumables or repeat-purchase products where buying more means customers come back less often but spend more per visit.
  • Your products are sold in packs or multiples naturally (e.g. sets of 2, 3, or 4).
  • You want to increase units-per-transaction without running a sitewide sale.

The most effective product volume setup pairs a moderate discount on 2 units with a stronger discount on 3. The 2-unit tier captures the majority; the 3-unit tier has a strong price-anchoring effect that makes the 2-unit tier feel like the obvious choice.
