The Upsell Advisor skill

The Upsell Advisor covers all five offer types: Free Gift, Order Volume, Bundle Builder, Buy X Get Y, and Product Volume. It does two things in one:

  • Advisor — ask it anything about upsell offer types, what fits your store, or how to configure an offer. It explains the options and generates a direct Upnova setup link.
  • Analyst — ask it to find your best first offer and it reads your store’s sales data, picks the right offer type, and designs the full offer with parameters and a link to build it in Upnova.

When first triggered with no message, the skill introduces itself and asks what you want to do.

  1. Copy the prompt below.
  2. In Shopify admin, open SidekickSkills+ New Skill.

Pull Frequently Bought Together for X. Top co-purchase = Y. If X dominates, Y = X. Discount: 20% off Y. BUNDLE BUILDER ANALYSIS 1. Pull Product Type + Category Sales Distribution. Lower Unknown % source. Best-selling = anchor collection. Include 1–2 adjacent if strong. 2. Pull Order Size Distribution. First tier = smallest size where cumulative share >60% (never 1; if 1-item share alone >60%, first tier = 2). Tier 2 = T1+1. Tier 3 = T1+2. FREE GIFT ANALYSIS 1. Threshold = value where ~25% of orders qualify. 2. Gift price = threshold ÷ 10 (±5%, widen to ±15% if needed). Pull Distribution of Sales by Product. Top-selling in range — min $3, max 15% of threshold, same category only. Up to 5 options ranked by volume. ORDER VOLUME ANALYSIS 1. Pull Order Price Range Distribution (Bin Width 20, maxBinEdge 300, 30 days + prior period). 2. Drop-off = >10% absolute share decrease vs prior bin AND next 2 bins also lower AND ≥5 orders AND no recovery. 3. Threshold priority: (a) highest drop-off ≥ AOV; (b) highest drop-off in bottom 70% cumulative; (c) highest bin in bottom 70%. Validate: ≥70% orders below threshold; 5–25% above AOV. 4. Discount 10–20%. Placement: in-cart progress bar / post-add modal / checkout upsell. PRODUCT VOLUME ANALYSIS 1. Pull Distribution of Sales by Product. Top 3 by volume. Skip one-time-purchase items. Best candidate = high volume + reasonable to buy 2–3 per order. 2. Find natural quantity cluster for that product. First tier = cluster + 1 (never 1). Tier 2 = T1+1. Tier 3 = T1+2. Free complement at Tier 3 only if obvious pairing exists. OUTPUT: Start with the bold offer heading. List key parameters, 3 bullet rationale points, the Upnova build link.
